Nice photos! At first glance the first one looks like a traditional farm shot of a farmer in his field, and it has a nice vintage color about it. Then you look closer and realize it’s really a very modern shot–stepping in electric fence posts! Wouldn’t the old-timers have loved electric fencing!
Gordon, it is grass that has been stockpiled for a few months. It hasn’t rained much at all since July but the stockpile has a lot of green in it. This week the rain started again, about two months later than normal. But I can’t complain because rain in July was awesome. 🙂
I am curious how long we can keep grazing without hay here. The grass does grow a little through winter. I think we can at least get through Christmas before I feed hay to slow them down, but we’ll see.
Susan, those are Jean photos from her cellphone and using all the silly instagram filters. After avoiding filters for years she’s having a field day now. I remember electric fence as a kid in the 70s so it has been around for a while. I’ll ask my cousin Kevin.
Cows and grass are all looking great Brent.
